Will Smith has revealed he feels “responsible for a lot of the misinformation” surrounding the coronavirus pandemic because of his film I Am Legend.

The actor, 51, discussed concerns over the viral outbreak with wife Jada Pinkett-Smith, daughter Willow, his son Trey and Jada’s mother Adrienne Banfield-Jones on the latest episode of Red Table Talk.

The famous family all gathered around the iconic Red Table where they discussed hard-hitting topics about the deadly bug, and Will had a confession to make on the matter.

The Fresh Prince of Bel Air star explained: “I wanted to do this because in 2008 I made I Am Legend, and I feel responsible for a lot of the misinformation.”

The hit film tells the story of a scientist who is the last human survivor of a deadly plague.

Will’s character attempts to reverse the effects of the plague by using his immune blood.

As the family continued to discuss their thoughts, Jada admits she believes we need to develop a clearer understanding of the disease that is claiming lives globally.

Jada said: “Just like other families around the world, we are trying to navigate all the information out there about COVID-19.

“You’ll notice Jaden is not joining us today because he’s being a responsible human and social distancing.
